Meet the Teachers
Mrs. McLean, Teacher

Hello! My name is Shannon McLean and I am very excited to be your child’s Pre-K teacher this year! We are going to have a fun year that will be filled with lots of learning and new adventures. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us. I am eager to learn ALL about you, but first, here are a few things about me.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Edwardsville for school. I graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in May 2014 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and an endorsement in Special Education. This will be my seventh year teaching Pre-K with the Edwardsville School District and I can honestly say I love what I do! I've spent my entire teaching career at the pre-k level, switching between Preschool Academy and Blended Pre-k! My husband, Sean, and I have two sons, Everett, who will be 3 in November and Sullivan, who was born this past April. We also have 1 cat (Aurora) and 2 dogs (Rosie and Jordy).
I coach Unified Soccer and Team Soccer for Special Olympics through the Edwardsville District and hope to continue that as much as possible this year!

This will be my fourth year working as a teacher's aide at Goshen Elementary. Prior to this I was a teacher/aide for twelve years in Champaign, IL.
On a more personal note, I have one stepson (Austin) and 35 + nieces and nephews. I simply adore each of them. Things that bring me great joy are church, family, friends, children, reading, going for walks, listening to music, etc.
I look forward to the 2020-21 school year and to work in Mrs. McLean's classroom. I know it will be another fantastic year!
